What do I
do if have I not received my pathology report?
Occasionally,
a report may not be ready due to extended studies such as special stains
to highlight a specific feature or more than one pathologist may review
the case. These cases will be listed as pending in our computer files.
You can call 865-482-9633 and have completed reports faxed immediately,
or you can view it on the web at www.pmapath.com and print it from there.
What is our
turnaround time for our reports?
You should
expect to receive your report as follows: For Surgicals: 24-48hrs. For
pap smears: 3-7 days.
* Please note
that it may take longer for diagnosis if there are additional studies necessary
or consultation with another pathologist is required. A review by one or
more of our pathologists is done at no additional charge.
What if I
have some questions about the preparation for a certain specimen?
You can refer
to our lab manual for preparation and handling instructions or feel free
to call our office or any of our pathologists directly for consultation
and/or questions.
What if I
have a rush case or a special case that needs to be picked up at a time
other than our normal courier run?
You can call
our office at 865-482-9633 for urgent cases. Rush cases can be requested
as such on the requisition sheet that accompanies the specimen or at our
website. These cases will be read first and the physician will be called
with the diagnosis.
Who do I
need to call if I need service or have a general problem?
You should
contact our Client Service Representative, Matt Robertson or our Manager,
Deborah Sliski. You can reach Matt at 865-300-9943 (cell) and both Matt
and Deborah at 865-482-9633 (office). They will be able to address any
questions or concerns you may have.
